Master & Apprentice Returns for Its Third Consecutive Year

Marrakech, Morocco — The Marrakech Short Film Festival is proud to announce the return of Master & Apprentice for its third consecutive edition, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing the next generation of Moroccan film critics and cinema professionals.

More than a workshop, Master & Apprentice is a year-round transmission of knowledge, dialogue, and mentorship. It creates a space where emerging voices learn directly from experienced professionals, strengthening critical thinking and enriching Morocco's cinematic landscape.

This year's edition will once again be led by renowned Moroccan film critic Abdelkarim Ouakrim, who will mentor two promising young apprentices: Ali Baid and Salma Mouaafi.

Throughout the festival, the apprentices will accompany the programme, engage with filmmakers, attend screenings, and contribute to public discussions and film criticism under the guidance of their mentor.

For three years, Master & Apprentice has embodied one of the festival's core beliefs: that the future of cinema is built through transmission, dialogue, and the sharing of experience.

We accompany. We build. We progress.

The Master & Apprentice programme is part of the Marrakech Short Film Festival's ongoing mission to make cinema more accessible, support emerging talent, and strengthen Morocco's film ecosystem by investing in people as much as in films.
