Marrakech Short Film Festival at the Institut du Monde Arabe: Celebrating Six Years of Cinema in Paris
Paris, 13–15 November 2026 — Institut du Monde Arabe
Following the success of its sixth edition, held from 25 to 30 September 2026, the Marrakech Short Film Festival (MsFF) reaches a new milestone through a prestigious collaboration with the Institut du Monde Arabe (IMA) in Paris.
This invitation represents a significant recognition for the festival, founded in 2021, celebrating six years of dedication to emerging cinema, the discovery of new talent, and the international promotion of Moroccan and international short films.
Over three days, from 13 to 15 November 2026, Parisian audiences are invited to discover BEST OF Marrakech Short Film Festival, a special selection of 18 short films from previous editions, highlighting filmmakers from Morocco and its diaspora, alongside emerging voices from across the Arab world.
Bringing together fiction, animation, and documentary, the selection offers diverse perspectives on contemporary societies, their transformations, contradictions, and collective imagination. From intimate stories to broader social questions, these films reflect the creative vitality of a new generation of filmmakers exploring innovative ways of telling stories about the world.
From Marrakech to Paris: A Dialogue Between Cinematic Cultures
Since its creation, the Marrakech Short Film Festival has been committed to building bridges between emerging filmmakers, industry professionals, and leading international film institutions.
The collaboration with the Institut du Monde Arabe reflects this ambition: to give films a life beyond the festival screenings, encourage their international circulation, and create new opportunities for visibility, exchange, and professional connections.
More than a retrospective, this Parisian event celebrates the festival’s journey while opening new perspectives for cultural and cinematic collaboration between Morocco, France, and the Arab world.
Three Days of Cinema and Encounters
The programme unfolds over three days of screenings, bringing together diverse perspectives, generations, and cinematic territories.
Beyond the screenings, the festival aims to extend the dialogue through conversations and encounters between invited filmmakers and film industry professionals based in France, exploring the challenges of short film creation, production, and international distribution.
These exchanges embody the spirit of the Marrakech Short Film Festival: **making cinema a living space for dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and meaningful encounters, where films become the starting point for lasting collaborations.**
Six Years of Commitment to Emerging Generations
Over six editions, the Marrakech Short Film Festival has established itself as a platform dedicated to discovering, supporting, and empowering emerging filmmaking talent.
Through its competitions, development programmes, industry events, and international partnerships, the festival champions a vision of cinema that extends beyond screenings, supporting filmmakers throughout their creative and professional journeys.
This Parisian edition embodies that ambition: **to bring films across borders, connect talent with institutions, and allow stories discovered in Marrakech to reach new audiences.**
