On parle souvent des dangers de la traversée du désert et de la Méditerranée. Mais ce dont on parle le moins, c’est de ce qui se passe une fois que les migrants arrivent à destination. Dans ce lieu appelé 5 Étoiles, Maliens, Sénégalais, Guinéens et autres se retrouvent pris au piège de leurs rêves. Commence alors un nouveau combat sous le regard du Gouverneur Faidherbe !
We often talk about the dangers of crossing the desert and the Mediterranean. But what we talk about the least is what happens once migrants arrive at their destination. In this place called 5 Stars, Malians, Senegalese, Guineans and others find themselves trapped in their dreams. A new fight then begins, under the gaze of Governor Faidherbe!

Biography
After earning a Master's degree in Geography from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Mame Woury Thioubou turned to journalism before joining the documentary filmmaking Master's program at Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis (UGB) in 2009, where she directed her graduation film, Face à Face. Committed to portraying the struggles of Senegalese society, she went on to direct the mid-length documentaries Agora Braille (2017), on the inclusion of visually impaired students in the Senegalese school system, and Fifiiré en Pays Cuballo (2019). In 2018 she founded the production company Soubalo Media Group (SMG). Her film 5 Étoiles (2019) won the Tanit de Bronze at the Carthage Film Festival and the Best International Documentary award at the Congofilmz Awards, among other honors. Her subsequent mid-length film, Rebeuss, Chambre 11 (2023), on Senegal's prisons, won the Grand Prix URTI du Documentaire d'Auteur and several other international awards.
