In a conservative Iraqi village, 20-year-old Sabreen faces relentless pressure after four years of childlessness in her marriage. Blamed by her husband and his controlling mother, Sabreen’s desperation leads her to a fortune teller in hopes of a cure. But when the charm offers no real answers, she escapes to a quiet orchard, seeking clarity. There, surrounded by nature, Sabreen confronts her fate and longs for freedom from the societal expectations suffocating her.

Biography

A young independent filmworker & first-time director from a small rural town in the far south of Iraq, studied cinema at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad, Interested in films that revolve around human experiences and issues. My experience as a sound recordist on several films helped me refine my directorial vision and deepen my understanding of the filmmaking process.
