Milk Brothers

At a time, the Foundouk of breastfeeding in Fez represented a symbol of female solidarity. New mothers who could not breastfeed, were assisted by other women who volunteered to breastfeed newborns or abandoned children. At the entrance, a man of law wrote in a register the names of the children who fed from the same breast, the latter were considered in the eyes of law as milk brothers and sisters. In this place where bonds are nourished by breastfeeding, Meriem, a young single mother, sees her life forever changed.

Biography

Kenza Tazi obtained her first Master degree in Cinema and Audiovisual at La Sorbonne - Paris 1 and her second Master degree in Cinematography at the MetFilm School in Berlin. She graduated as a director of photography and held this positions on many projects. Having written ""Milk Brothers"", she decided to direct her first short film while also being behind the camera. The latter is selected in many international festivals as the Brussels Short Film Festival, the Toronto Arab Film Festival or the Flickerfest International Short Film Festival in Sydney, Australia.
