Launch of the 2025 Open Call for the Marrakech Short Film Festival: A Fifth Edition Promising
Innovation and International Collaboration

Marrakech is gearing up to host the fifth edition of the Marrakech Short Film Festival (MSFF), a must-attend
event for short film enthusiasts, taking place from September 26 to October 1, 2025.

In this context, the festival officially opens its call for submissions, inviting filmmakers from around the world to submit their films before May 10, 2025.

This edition marks a turning point for the festival with the introduction of an international competition, which will award two prestigious distinctions: Best Director and Best Film.

This new development aims to enhance the visibility of emerging talents and promote excellence in the short film industry.

MSFF 2025 is also expanding its program with new international showcases designed to foster exchange and collaboration among filmmakers.

Additionally, it introduces innovative training programs to support young
directors in their professional development.

A key highlight of this edition will be the return of the Low Budget Film Program, now in its second year.

This initiative, co-produced with producer Rachida Essaidi and mentored by director Nour-Eddine Lakhmari, offers young talents the opportunity to create low-budget films while benefiting from personalized guidance and tailored resources.

The 2025 edition also strengthens its network of strategic partnerships with leading players in the film industry, further solidifying its position as a key platform for short films, both in Morocco and internationally.

With a carefully curated selection of national and international short films, this edition promises a week of cinematic immersion, professional networking, and cultural exchange.

The Marrakech Short Film Festival 2025 is set to be an extraordinary celebration of artistic diversity and global filmmaking talent.
