Adam Żurawiecki is a Polish-born writer-director based in Malta, working across independent film and commercial production on a Poland-Malta-Ghana axis. A social scientist by training with over twenty years behind the camera, he has directed more than 100 TV commercials across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East for brands including Coca-Cola, YSL, Arla and LIDL. His work is drawn to symbolic borderlines: the places where cultures collide and something new becomes possible. He believes that when there are more answers than questions, freedom ends, and he uses cinema to sit inside that tension rather than resolve it. Cookie Box (2024), which he wrote, produced, directed and entirely self-funded, is that philosophy in practice: a complex subject handled in an accessible, entertaining register, because cinema began as entertainment and that is still where its reach comes from. The film has travelled twelve festivals across four continents and won four awards, including Best International Short at AFRIFF in Lagos, the 62nd Golden Knight in Malta, Best Director at AiF Accra and Best Producer at Euroshorts in Poland. It was an Official Selection at the Oscar-qualifying LA Shorts and is currently in international distribution.
