Ahmed Sobhy, a director and producer from Cairo, Egypt, made his debut with the short film "A Very Old Accident" (2020), showcased at Kinoki and Les Nuits Med festivals. His fiction short "Objects are Closer Than They Appear" (2023) premiered at the Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival and screened at FESCAAAL and the Gouna Film Festival.
