The Marrakech Short Film Festival returns this year for its 5th edition, taking place from
September 26th to October 1st, 2025. This annual rendezvous for cinema lovers and industry professionals continues to highlight Moroccan and international short films, while strengthening Marrakech’s role as a hub for creativity and cinematic expression.
Organized in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication (MJCC), Morocco World News, the Municipality of Marrakech, the Moroccan Cinema Center (CCM), and Marrakchi Made, the festival offers a rich and diverse program that blends film screenings, professional encounters, and open discussions.
Screenings will unfold in some of Marrakech’s most emblematic venues, where history and modernity intertwine. Among them are the El Badii Palace, Cyber Park, the Folk, and the French Institute of Marrakech (IFM) The Star Center of Jemaa el-Fna, along with additional venues to be confirmed soon. These unique settings transform the festival into a cultural celebration at the heart of the red city, where audiences meet creators in an exceptional atmosphere.
Remaining true to its commitment to nurturing young talent, the festival continues to expand its structured programs. The Low Budget Program this year will once again provide a platform for fresh voices and innovative ideas. Among the selected works is “The Nest” by Ayoub Boudadi, co-produced with Abdesselam Elmeftahi of Nadacom Agency.
This initiative demonstrates how limited resources can give rise to boundless creativity and new cinematic visions.
Through this dynamic momentum, the Marrakech Short Film Festival consolidates its role as a meeting point for creators from diverse cultures and a platform dedicated to empowering the short film industry.
It amplifies emerging voices, offering them visibility and opportunities both nationally and internationally.
