Marrakech Short Film Festival Director Joins the Jury of the Prestigious ZINEBI Festival

Marrakech, November 2025 — The Marrakech Short Film Festival (MARRAKECHsFF) is proud to announce that its founding director, Ramia Beladel, has been appointed as a member of the International Jury of ZINEBI – the International Festival of Documentary and Short Film of Bilbao, one of the world’s most distinguished Category A film festivals.

With this appointment, Ramia Beladel becomes the first Moroccan in the history of ZINEBI to join its international jury, marking a milestone for Moroccan cinema and for the growing recognition of the country’s new generation of cultural leaders.

ZINEBI, accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF), is renowned for its dedication to short and documentary cinema and for its commitment to diverse cinematic voices. The festival, now in its 67th edition, continues to stand as a global platform for artistic innovation and dialogue.

Ramia Beladel’s participation on the ZINEBI jury highlights the growing international presence of the Marrakech Short Film Festival, founded on values of resilience, inclusion, and cross-cultural exchange. Since its creation, MARRAKECHsFF has championed emerging filmmakers from Morocco and around the world, promoting the short-film format as a powerful tool for storytelling and connection.

> “This appointment is not only an honor but also a symbol of how far Moroccan cinema has come,” said Ramia Beladel. “It reflects the collective effort of a festival born out of passion, courage, and a belief in the transformative power of cinema.”

This recognition reinforces MARRAKECHsFF’s position among the leading cultural initiatives in North Africa and its growing role in fostering dialogue between global film communities.
