IIP PROGRAM 2025

This program marks the inaugural step of the MARRAKECHsFF towards establishing a thriving market for the short film industry, setting the foundation for future editions of the festival.

The initiative will feature a dedicated showcase program highlighting international film organizations and collective initiatives aimed at promoting and advancing the short film industry. With the goal of fostering partnerships, the program seeks to ensure active representation from partner countries, facilitating exchanges with other platforms, particularly Moroccan ones. These exchanges will lay the groundwork for meaningful collaborations between Morocco and its international counterparts.

The program will unfold during the week of the festival, serving as a pivotal platform for networking, dialogue, and collaboration among global and local industry professionals.

Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)

Locarno Film Festival

ZINEBI – Bilbao International Festival of Documentary & Short Film
Established in 1959, ZINEBI is an Academy Awards® qualifying festival and one of Spain’s most respected platforms for short films and documentaries. It highlights new cinematic languages, particularly in animation, experimental cinema, and creative documentary, and champions emerging talent with a strong focus on innovation. With its long history and international prestige, ZINEBI has become a key bridge between Spanish and global filmmakers.

Alexandria Short Film Festival
Created in Egypt, the Alexandria Short Film Festival provides a vital space for Arab and international short films. The festival has quickly become a hub for dialogue between cultures, hosting screenings, workshops, and discussions that bring together filmmakers from across the Mediterranean and beyond. It plays a key role in empowering young Arab filmmakers and giving visibility to stories that resonate across borders plus the eligibility for the oscars.

Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival
The Clermont-Ferrand festival is the world’s leading event dedicated to short films, often described as the “Cannes of short cinema.” Every February, it gathers thousands of professionals, students, and cinephiles from all over the world. Its Short Film Market is the largest global marketplace for short films, connecting filmmakers with distributors, buyers, and institutions. Clermont-Ferrand has been a launchpad for countless careers and remains the ultimate reference for anyone passionate about the short format.

Digital Factory Studios
A Moroccan production and post-production studio, Digital Factory Studios combines creativity with cutting-edge technology. Its mission is to provide high-quality production services while supporting new generations of filmmakers through training and mentorship. Polish Film Institute (in collaboration with the Polish Embassy in Morocco)
The Polish Film Institute (PFI) is the national body supporting Polish cinema, from development and production to distribution and promotion. Its international partnerships highlight Poland’s vibrant film culture while opening pathways for collaboration across borders. By working with the Polish Embassy in Morocco, the PFI brings Polish short films and filmmakers into dialogue with Moroccan and African cinema, encouraging cross-cultural exchange and the discovery of fresh voices.

Based in France, La Luna Productions is a production company known for its commitment to innovative, author-driven cinema. The company develops and produces both fiction and documentary films, often working with emerging voices as well as established directors. Its projects are frequently showcased in major international festivals, reflecting a strong editorial line that combines artistic ambition with social and cultural relevance. La Luna Productions actively engages in co-productions across Europe and the Mediterranean, making it a trusted partner for cross-border collaborations.
