Marrakech Short Film Festival Concludes Successful "Master & Apprentice" Program
The Marrakech Short Film Festival proudly concluded its inaugural "Master & Apprentice" program, an initiative aimed at cultivating the next generation of film critics. Launched in collaboration with the Swiss Embassy in Morocco, this unique mentorship program drew inspiration from Morocco's traditional apprenticeship model.

Over the past two months, acclaimed film critic Mr. Abdelkarim Ouakrim guided young apprentice Youssef Sebti through a rich learning experience. Together, they prepared for a series of engaging roundtables and masterclasses that took place during the festival week, which provided a platform for thoughtful discussions on film.

The "Master & Apprentice" program successfully achieved several key objectives:

Inspiration and Mentorship: Mr. Ouakrim shared invaluable insights and expertise with Sebti, nurturing his growth as an emerging film critic.

Career Path Exploration: The program illuminated the potential of film criticism as a rewarding career, encouraging young cinephiles to consider this path.

Audience Engagement: By fostering discussions around cinematic criteria and appreciation, the program aimed to cultivate a more informed and discerning audience.

Passion for Cinema: The mentorship experience deepened participants' love for film, reinforcing the festival's mission to celebrate and promote the cinematic arts.

Throughout the festival, Ouakrim and Sebti led dynamic discussions that engaged audiences and encouraged vibrant exchanges about the role of cinema in society and culture. Their collaboration highlighted the importance of mentorship and provided a glimpse into the future of film criticism.

The Marrakech Short Film Festival is grateful for the success of the "Master & Apprentice" program and remains committed to supporting emerging talent in the film industry. By embracing mentorship and fostering critical dialogue, the festival aims to inspire a new generation of passionate film critics.
